Prehnite is a durable calcium/aluminum mineral typically found in a translucent to transparent form. It exhibits a lovely range of colors from light green to yellow, and occasionally white or blue. Its botryoidal or radial crystal formations create fascinating patterns, often resembling clusters of grapes or cauliflower. Prehnite is commonly associated with zeolites and found in geodes or as cavity fillings in basaltic rocks. Notable sources include locations in Mali and India. Its inviting and rich colors, unique crystal forms, and rarity make prehnite a prized addition to any mineral collection.
